Beeline Boxes

What if… we could co-design & manufacture Beeline Boxes, fill them with evergreen herbs and install them on public walkways of housing estates in the borough of Camden, and beyond?

What if… we could create a partnership between the KOKO Foundation, Think&Do, Camden Council, University of the Arts London, The Front Yard Company, local businesses, and Camden residents?

What if… this partnership increased biodiversity in urban estates with a new form of vertical growing, and helped create community?

What if… this then inspired residents to come up with more ideas to green up their estates?

Beeline Boxes have been successfully installed at Bayham Place Estate! Powder coated in greens and yellow, as chosen by residents, the boxes were installed and filled with evergreen herbs in May. The estate has further come to life thanks to several new green interventions which grew out of the Beeline Box project. The addition of a wildflower turf, repainted railings, and new mural have increased the vibrancy and biodiversity on the estate.

The third iteration of Beeline Boxes has been installed! This iteration looks slightly different than before, with communal herb boxes being installed across more flats than in previous years. Sharing planters with their neighbours has put community and sharing at the forefront of this project. Powder coated in a vibrant blue, yellow and red, as requested by residents, the planters add some beautiful colour to the estate.
