Sharing Space Food Mission
We are really proud of another outcome of our Sharing Spaces: the launch of a fantastic social enterprise: Sharing Space Food Mission.
Seventeen Somers Town residents have been trained in Food Hygiene and have received their Food Hygiene level 2 certification. They are now providing catering for lots of Camden based businesses including Camden Council, the British Library, Phoenix Court. In the first ten months of business over 80 orders have been placed by local businesses/organisations. Need catering for an event? Get in touch!
For more info, contact: halima@thinkanddocamden.org.uk.
This project not only helps residents earn an income, but builds confidence and teaches skills. Residents are now starting to think about branding and packaging. In line with the Think&Do ethos, they have decided that all catering is free from single-use plastic. Just look at those mouthwatering samosas made by Shadida and cakes by Halima…yum!

Cholo Khā’i Cafe
Drum roll please… we have launched a new social enterprise in the form of a pop-up planet friendly, community cafe. Run by a team of talented local women who have learnt all the skills required to run their own cafe. It is open every Thursday from 9am-2:30pm at Somers Town Community Association Cafe, 150 Ossulston Street, London, NW1 1EE.
This December, there is a special Christmas menu.
Cholo Khā’i, meaning “Come eat” in Bengali, will focus on making and serving tasty vegan and vegetarian Asian bites. Forget an egg sarnie for brekkie, come and sample our stuffed parathas, followed by a spicy curry of the day, or perhaps a masala beans jacket potato. The cafe will also focus on creating healthy after school snacks for kids, ranging from freshly made popcorn to doodle noodles. Read the menu online…
The cafe has been reviewed in the Camden New Journal.
