What if…meet the team
We’ve asked the team to each share a What if…? idea. Here are their inspiring words:
What if… Camdeners all joined together as one big family to crack the climate and social justice crisis?
What if… all of Camden’s diverse communities had access to renewable and sustainable energy, providing them with cheaper, cleaner fuel? This could reduce their fuel bills and carbon emitted into the atmosphere. In turn, we could educate and empower the local children to learn about how this green energy works, to enable them to become green energy champions of the future.
What if… as a community we shared skills and ideas for saving energy and helped make the area we live in a better place for us all, for now and the future?
What if… we kept the lights off for a brighter future?
What if… instead of focusing on money and growth, we prioritised health, happiness and being connected with our community as a way of measuring prosperity?
What if… Camden could pave the way for sustainable, community-driven living, and we all prioritised people and the planet?
What if…
environmental policies prioritised the needs and voices of communities more impacted by Climate Change?
What if… Camden could demonstrate the power of people and communities in driving the climate action we wish to see?
What if… an action research on urban soil condition could inform ecosystem quality, potential linkage between soil and local inhabitants and contribute to urban greenery?
What if… we could repurpose old household items and materials for a new purpose?
What if… all Camden Estates and beyond, could be planted with Communitrees and Beeline Boxes installed on walkways? What if upcycled benches and picnic tables could be built by volunteers and nature inspired murals painted on walls to encourage residents to sit and enjoy their newly greened up estate?
What if… there was a sustainable and healthy planet for our children?
What if… the people of Camden had protecting this planet as their top ( but not only) priority?
What if… we made new stories to celebrate our connection with the Earth and with each other? What if…we shared them with each other in all sorts of ways. And harnessed their power to discover fairer, friendlier and more sustainable ways to live together on this one green Earth our home?

What if… we saw the climate crisis as a symptom of our desire to dominate other people, their lands and mother earth? What if we met our economic needs through reciprocity, cooperation, altruism, shared governance, non-violence and a honoring of all of life, including our more than human relatives?
What if… by solving the climate crisis we could guarantee everyone – no matter where they are – a fair and just access to human rights too? And what if Camden could pioneer this approach?
What if… we more equitably shared resources within our borough?
What if… we find peace within ourselves and express that in the world?
