In April 2023 Think & Do and the CCA held the long awaited Camden Primary Schools Green Dragons Den event where seven schools came to pitch in person and one sent in a written proposal.

The panel of Green Dragons included Cllr Nasim Ali, Mayor of Camden, Cllr Marcus Boyland, Cabinet Member for Best Start for Children and Families, Hdayet Otaky, Deputy Youth MP and Environment Sub-group Lead, Neil Panton, Troup Bywaters + Anders, Halima Khan, Think & Do Camden, Richard Donnelly, Camden Learning & Emily Walker-Smith, Think & Do Camden.

The event was kindly hosted and sponsored by Troup Bywaters + Anders, other sponsors include 3VB, Media Insurance Brokers and Clearcast. Thanks also to the Veolia ECO team who came to run a workshop on waste & recycling, Camden Clean Air Initiative who’s workshop centered around clean and healthy air, St. George PLC / Berkeley Group who delivered a talk on Sustainability and curriculum and Stephen from Think & Do for giving the students a chance to get their hands dirty in a rewilding workshop.

Schools received £200-£500 grants to kick start their sustainability projects. There was a strong theme of rewilding and food growing to encourage healthy eating with Edith Neville pitching an upcycled plastic bottle greenhouse, Brookfield sharing their plans for an ambitious Secret Garden and Rhyl Primary pitching for seeds and equipment to grow a butterfly garden on both of their school sites. We look forward to following all the projects they develop this term.
